Month over month, the value of building permits in Canada increased 20.5 percent to $12.8 billion in April, according to new StatCan data. Construction intentions in the residential sector rose by 21 percent to $8.0 billion. The value of single-family permits edged up 2.4 percent to $2.6 billion.
