Montreal longshore workers walk off the job

Longshore workers at two terminals of the Port of Montreal have launched a 72-hour strike, beginning at 7 a.m. today. The Syndicat des débardeurs du port de Montréal is targeting the terminals operated by Termont Montreal Inc., which account for more than 40 percent of the containers that arrive at the port. Their collective agreement expired Dec. 31, 2023.
