NATIONAL — Expect prices at checkout to increase over coming weeks, as retailers struggle with the impact of the weakening Canadian dollar. According to the Globe and Mail, a recent survey found that 70% of retailers would raise prices up to 5%, while another 18% of respondents said they would raise prices even more than that. Suppliers are getting price increases finally this season. RONA president and CEO Robert Sawyer says his company has managed to keep prices stable until now, but that won’t continue.
