SAN JOSE, Calif. — Shoppers at some Lowe’s stores in California are being greeted by robots. The “LoweBots” cruise store aisles offering assistance. They can respond to verbal queries and use cameras and lasers to guide customers to products. Twenty-two robots are now in place in 11 stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are not intended to replace human workers, says the company.
