OAK BROOK, Ill. ― Ace Hardware announced last week it is launching a buy online, deliver from store feature at an unspecified number of U.S. locations. “There has been a tremendous consumer shift toward free and fast delivery in the marketplace,” said Bill Kiss, Ace’s head of digital, retail strategy and innovation, in a release. “With 72% of U.S. households within 15 minutes of an Ace store, we are uniquely positioned to leverage that proximity to meet our customers’ home improvement needs.” With the new feature, customers ordering an in-stock item before noon will receive it the same day. In addition, members of the Ace Rewards loyalty program can receive free next-day delivery for purchases of $50 or more.
