Amar Doman purchases B.C. Lions

Futura Corp. owner Amar Doman, whose holdings include CanWel Building Materials, is the new owner of the CFL’s B.C. Lions.

Doman acquired the team from the estate of former senator David Braley, who was also the former owner of the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

“I’ve been interested in [the team] for a long time,” said Doman. “I like to rebuild things; I think this [team] needs a rebuild … I think I’m the guy to do it.”
