BMR boosts Sollio earnings

Sollio Cooperative Group reported this week it ended the last fiscal year with sales of $8.9 billion, a $1 billion increase from the previous year. The year’s $337.5 million loss was widened from $21.5 million in 2021. The co-op’s Olymel food division in particular was hit by headwinds in the fresh pork industry, though these were mitigated as restaurants reopened in many locales.

BMR Group’s business was a bright spot amid the tough times, posting its best results in 55 years. Sollio CEO Pascal Houle, formerly in the same role at BMR, said the co-op’s vision for the retail division has born fruit in diversifying its holdings.
