Joel Marks retiring from Home Hardware

ST. JACOBS, Ont. — Joel Marks is retiring as VP of merchandise hardlines at Home Hardware Stores Ltd., the company has announced.

“Joel has played a key role on our leadership team since his appointment to vice-president in 2015, bringing almost 39 years of experience in home improvement retailing,” Kevin Macnab, CEO and president, said in a release.

As a result of Marks’s retirement, Home has named Marianne Thompson as senior VP, merchandise, effective June 15. In this expanded role, she will oversee the entire merchandise team at Home Hardware. The process to identify a successor for Marks is underway. He and Thompson are working together to ensure a seamless transition following his retirement on June 12.
