PERTH, Australia — The sudden departure of Bunnings CEO John Gillam will not put a damper on the Australian chain’s U.K. roll-out, the CEO of parent company Wesfarmers has said. Richard Goyder told Australia’s Business Daily that the company has no succession worries, saying “Wesfarmers is an exceptional company with exceptional talent”. Wesfarmers announced Gillam’s resignation from the helm of its subsidiary earlier this week. He had been in post for 11 years. Goyder stressed that Gillam, who is joining the Bunnings UK & Ireland advisory board “is not running away from the business.”
