TORONTO — Canadian Tire could be pursuing legal action to recover costs if the Ontario Municipal Board quashes a planned distribution facility in Caledon, Ont. The project was previously expedited with a ministerial zoning order exempting it from by-laws, but residents are up in arms over what they consider a departure from the province’s “smart growth” guidelines for up-and-coming bedroom communities. Construction will continue unless and until the OMB intervenes or the city issues a stop-work order, The Toronto Star reports.
