Canac acquires Greater Montreal property

Canac has acquired a site in Laval, Que., Montreal’s immediate northern neighbour, La Presse reports. The 673,000-square-foot lot is zoned for light industrial and heavy commercial use, but Canac marketing director Patrick Delisle would not comment on the company’s plans for it.

The privately owned banner maintains two stores on the south shore of Montreal. It currently has no presence on the island of Montreal itself or Île Jésus, which is coterminous with the city of Laval. According to public records, Canac paid $24.3 million to the previous owners, a consortium comprising Blackstone Inc. and Pure Industriel.
