MONTREAL — Canadian Tire is looking to increase its Quebec suppliers, acknowledging the chain is not always a “priority” for many of the province’s manufacturers, reports the Montreal Gazette. Jean Parisien, the company’s Quebec VP, tackled the shortage by inviting suppliers to a series of “speed dating” sessions in Toronto, where they could meet with bilingual groups of Canadian Tire buyers to make their pitches. Currently, Canadian Tire has 820 Quebec suppliers. “Quebecers have innovative products and we want them to get to know us better,” said Parisien.
