Brinks Forest Products has made an offer to Canfor Corp. for four sawmills in northern British Columbia, Canadian Forest Industries reports. The locations are in Bear Lake, Fort St. John, Vanderhoof, and Houston. In a release, Brinks said it’s seeking to preserve jobs in the region at a time when the industry is under major pressure. Canfor previously announced the closure of two northern B.C. sawmills earlier this month.
