Dealers operate under threat of nearby wildfire in Osoyoos, B.C.

A wildfire that moved up from Washington state and crossed over into Canada came perilously close to the town of Osoyoos, B.C., before the winds changed at the last minute. But persistent high temperatures and a lack of rain keep the threat of the fire ever-present. Two dealers in the town, Osoyoos Home Building Centre (shown here) and the Home Hardware store on the town’s main street, faced major disruptions and the threat of evacuation as the wildfire has burned nearby.
