A shortage of shipping containers has put pressure on Dollarama’s finances, CEO and president Neil Rossy acknowledged last week. “The pressure on container shipping costs continues to build and, as a result, will be felt more in fiscal 2023 as we renew [shipping] contracts,” he told analysts on a conference call.
Rossy said materials for some products may need to be replaced. If the situation persists for more than a year, prices for some items could be raised to as much as $5.
