ATLANTA — Home Depot says it will “reset” its outdoor power equipment offering, discontinuing the Ego line of cordless power tools. Chervon Group had been selling the brand, also carried by Ace Hardware, to Home Depot since 2014. Lowe’s Cos. will be the exclusive U.S. carrier of Ego beginning in December. Ego products will be available online and in select stores this fall and will roll out to all U.S. stores by February 2021. In addition, Lowe’s will begin offering select Skil battery-powered outdoor power equipment in late 2020, including push and self-propelled mowers, leaf blowers and string and hedge trimmers.
Ego brand moves from Home Depot to Lowe’s Cos.
