OTTAWA — Giant Tiger Stores Ltd. has announced that its Johnstown, Ont., distribution centre is now operational. The 600,000-square-foot facility counts 300 full-time employees and features Canada’s first Symbiotic system. This new technology gives the centre the benefit of 210 autonomous robots that move freely up, down and across racks of inventory to deposit or retrieve cases at speeds up to 40 km per hour.
