Grainger names chief HR officer

W.W. Grainger has announced the appointment of Matt Fortin as SVP and chief human resources officer, effective today. Fortin joined Grainger in 2006 and most recently served as the group VP for merchandising and supplier management, leading the team responsible for building and publishing Grainger’s product assortment. His tenure with the firm also includes time leading its sourcing and commercial operations in China. Prior to joining Grainger, he spent 16 years at General Motors.
