RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Que. ― Maibec has announced the conclusion of the sale of its Saint-Pamphile, Que., and Masardis, Maine, sawmills to Groupe Lebel. Both companies are privately owned and so terms of the deal will not be published, except that all 315 affected employees will keep their jobs under Lebel. “Maibec will now focus on growing its pre-stained exterior sidings systems based on lap sidings and shingles manufactured with solid wood or wood-based engineered material,” said President François Tardif in a statement, adding that the company “recently announced the launching of the Maibec Resistech siding systems manufactured on LP SmartSide from Louisiana-Pacific.”
