QUEBEC CITY — Quebec Premier François Legault announced a new round of retail closures taking place beginning Christmas Day. A handful of essential businesses, including hardware and grocery stores, will remain open while most retailers take a “holiday pause” slated to conclude Jan.10. Following Manitoba’s lead, but breaking with Ontario, Quebec will require big boxes to remove customer access to non-essential departments throughout the period.
