The venerable Zellers name is being re-introduced to Canadians both online and in stores. Twenty-five Hudson’s Bay stores across the country will introduce a store-within-a-store concept featuring the Zellers discount brand. The new retail concept will be supported by a new website, Zellers.ca. The product offering will replicate the discount department store vibe of the former Zellers retail chain, which was bought by Hudson’s Bay Company in 1978. HBC opened its first Zellers pop-up in 2021 at its Burlington, Ont., location, followed by a second at Montreal’s Galeries d’Anjou mall.
