Home Depot hours: Canadian stores follow suit

home depotTORONTO ― The Home Depot Canada announced it is temporarily adjusting store hours in consideration of public health concerns. Beginning Saturday, March 21, stores will now close daily at 6 p.m. The announcement follows on a similar one this week from Home Depot in the U.S. All hourly full-time workers will receive an additional 80 hours of paid sick or personal time, and part-time workers will receive 40 hours. If any staff are diagnosed with COVID-19, Home Depot Canada will continue to pay them during their absence.

“Canadians rely on us for the products and materials they need to make urgent repairs in their homes and communities,” Jeff Kinnaird, president of The Home Depot Canada, said in a statement, “and we have always been committed to remaining open during times of crisis.”
