Home Depot tackles problem of organized retail crime

The Home Depot is tackling the growing problem of organized retail crime, calling it “a large-scale, multi-jurisdictional operation where criminals steal merchandise from a retailer with the goal of re-selling the stolen goods.” The retailer has posted a video addressing the subject.

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, ORC has caused more than US$125 billion in lost economic activity in that country. It has also triggered a loss of more than 650,000 jobs, affecting retailers of all sizes. (Click here to see the video for yourself. —Editor)
