CHICAGO — Home Depot took the top honour at the Internet Retailer Excellence Awards, where it was recognized as Internet Retailer of the Year. The award, given at a banquet during the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, recognizes a web merchant which has demonstrated outstanding performance in all areas of e-commerce. Home Depot was chosen for its dramatic growth in online sales—a jump of 34% in 2014—as well as its innovative use of warehouses and local stores to handle online orders.
