ST. JACOBS, Ont. — A southwestern Ontario Home Hardware abruptly closed its doors over the weekend, CTV News reports, just days after the owner signalled that it would remain open for another eight to 12 months. Until Sunday the store was located in south Kitchener’s Pioneer Park Plaza, which is being prepared for major redevelopment by its owners. The plaza will remain a retail complex when the renovations are completed, and proprietors of other businesses on the site told CTV they have not been given a hard timetable for its progress. Some retailers however plan to look for new locations rather than wait out the project, which will involve demolishing some existing structures on the lot.
