Housing starts edge down in August

The annualized pace of housing starts in Canada fell by 1.0 percent in August to 252,787 units, from 255,232 units in July, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. The rate of urban starts declined by the same percentage, with 233,075 units recorded in August. Rural starts were estimated at a rate of 19,712 units.
