The seasonally adjusted annual rate of housing starts was 301,279 units in November, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. reports, an increase of 26 percent from 238,366 units in October. The SAAR of urban starts increased by 29 percent to 279,396 units, with single-detached urban starts down one percent to 58,243 units. Rural starts were estimated at a SAAR of 21,883 units.
