OTTAWA — Housing starts in Canada dropped 16.4% to 156,276 units seasonally adjusted in February from 187,025 units in January, reports CMHC. Urban starts decreased to 140,722 seasonally adjusted from 171,950. The decrease in February reflects broad based declines in eight of the ten provinces and was led by multiple urban starts, which dropped 25%.
