CALGARY — Taiga Building Products announced the death on July 15 of Doug Morris, one of the company’s earliest team members. Joining Taiga in 1978, Morris was intimately involved with its management team and salespeople, acting as an early influence on the business. He developed its distribution presence in Eastern Canada and spearheaded Taiga’s 1996 acquisition of distribution centres in Ontario and Quebec. Morris also established the Oakville commodity trading division and Dynamic Forest Products. After aiding in the process of taking Taiga public, he served as executive VP of major accounts and supply management from 2007 to 2009. He was appointed to the company’s board later that year and remained in that role for the rest of his life.
In memoriam: Doug Morris
