COLOGNE, Germany — Gregory Bridgeford, who helped to engineer Lowe’s entry into Canada, has been selected for this year’s Global DIY Lifetime Award, according to a joint announcement by the European DIY Retail Association, the Federation of the European DIY Manufacturers, and the Global Home Improvement Network. Bridgeford joined Lowe’s in 1982 as executive assistant to the chairman rising through the ranks over the course of his 32-year career. His positions have included Senior VP for Merchandising, Marketing, and Business Development; and Chief Customer Officer. In his role as Lowe’s first head of international business, Bridgeford championed the company’s expansion into Canada and Mexico.
