Lowe’s staff and customers donate toys

BOUCHERVILLE, Que. — The Lowe’s network of stores in Canada has been collecting new, unused toys from its employees and customers over the past month. The giant retailer has been involved in television network CTV’s Toy Mountain initiative, which was organized in partnership with The Salvation Army. More than 6,500 toys, gathered across the 57 participating Lowe’s stores, will be handed to The Salvation Army for distribution to thousands of children. In addition, Lowe’s Canada made a $10,000 cash donation in support of the initiative.

“This is the 6th year Lowe’s has participated in a store-wide toy drive and collected toys to bring some joy to children in need across Canada over the holiday season,” said Guy Beaumier, interim executive vice-president, Lowe’s Big Box. “Each year, we are overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from both our employees and the local communities we are involved in, and 2017 is no exception.”
