Momentive to sell sealants business

WATERFORD, N.Y. — Momentive Performance Materials has announced the pending sale of its consumer sealants segment to Henkel. The terms of the sale, which includes GE-branded consumer sealants carried by hardware retailers, have not been disclosed. Momentive says it will continue to manufacture these products through 2021 under a transition supply agreement with Henkel. Beginning in 2021 and continuing into 2022, the company plans to phase out basic chemicals production at its Waterford, N.Y. plant.
