INDIANAPOLIS — The former North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) is now the North American Hardware and Paint Association (NHPA). The move follows the disbanding of the Paint and Decorating Retailers Association, a long-time close collaborator with the NRHA. In its new incarnation, the organization will represent all independent hardware stores, home centres, lumber yards and paint and decorating retailers across the U.S. and Canada.
“Independent hardware stores and home centers share so much common DNA with independent paint and decorating retailers that this expansion of our membership can only benefit the industry as a whole,” NHPA president and CEO Bob Cutter said in a release. Existing PDRA members will be transferred over to the new NHPA.
