TORONTO —The influx of American stores such as Walmart and Target is hitting old-guard grocers like Loblaws and Metro hard, creating what RONA CEO and former Metro executive Robert Sawyer dubbed a “bloodbath” in September. Investors may have a better picture of players’ standings in the market when Loblaw, which is in the process of acquiring Shoppers Drug Mart, and Metro release their quarterly reports this week.
