Orgill says it is expanding its online event offerings, with a view to having them complement in-person gatherings when those are feasible. “While the restrictions placed on us as a result of the pandemic forced the innovation of our Online Buying Event, the concept has proven to be relevant whether there is a pandemic or not,” CEO and president Boyden Moore said in a statement.
As part of this strategy, the in-person Fall Dealer Market, which had been planned for Aug. 26 to 28 in Chicago, will be replaced with an Online Buying Event running from Aug. 16 to 27.
The decision was prompted by concerns about staff and customer safety and uncertainty about access to services and overall market conditions. In addition, Orgill is planning Online Buying Events for late October 2021, February 2022 (to coincide with the in-person Spring Dealer Market in Orlando), and late April 2022.
