BOUCHERVILLE, Que. — RONA announced it has recently completed its commitment to plant one million trees in Alberta’s boreal forests, near Slave Lake. The project, initiated in 2011 through TOTEM Building Supplies, which was acquired by RONA, was scheduled for completion by 2021. The tree-planting initiative formed the first phase of the company’s long-term sustainable development platform and reflects its commitment to responsible environmental stewardship. The project helped the Lesser Slave region replenish its landscape by planting one million trees in areas burned by fires as far back as 1998. Replanting took place on approximately 61 hectares of boreal forest about 30 kilometres south of the Slave Lake area.
