Saint-Gobain gets OK for Sika takeover

PARIS — Building supplies maker Saint-Gobain is moving ahead with its acquisition of the controlling shares of specialty coating manufacturer Sika. The Swiss Takeover Board has approved the purchase of the 16.4% of Sika shares that are owned by the Burkard-Schenker family. The deal is expected to be worth about US$2.8 billion.
