QUEBEC CITY — Maison Simons CEO Peter Simons is among the 103 individuals named to the Order of Canada by Governor General Julie Payette at the end of December. Simons has been admitted to the rank of Member, with the insignia of the order to be conferred at a ceremony yet to be scheduled. Simons and his brother Richard became the fifth generation of their family at the retailer’s helm when they assumed control of the business in 1996. During his tenure, the company made its first forays outside Quebec City, with stores in Sherbrooke and Montreal among other locales. Simons was previously named a Chevalier of the Order National du Québec in 2008.
