La Maison Simons opened a new location in the Montreal suburb of Pointe-Claire early in May and has announced plans for a Halifax store in early 2024. It’s a major comeback for a company that was pushed to the brink of bankruptcy after the pandemic’s outbreak, The Globe and Mail reports. The retailer is also rumoured to be exploring prospective locations in Toronto and Vancouver. “We still have some work to do, quite honestly” when it comes to brand recognition outside Quebec, CEO and president Bernard Leblanc said in a Retail Insider interview last fall.
