MADISON, Wis. — David Maura has been appointed executive chairman of Spectrum Brands, after almost four years as chairman, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. Maura’s contract is in effect until the fall of 2018 and includes an annual baseline salary of $700,000 before bonuses. As chairman, Maura served simultaneously as a managing director and executive VP of investments at Spectrum’s largest investor, HRG Group, formerly Harbinger Group. Spectrum owns a number of consumer brands including Rayovac and Stanley Black & Decker.
