Target appoints risk officer after breach

MINNEAPOLIS — Almost a year after Target’s credit card data was hacked, the company has appointed its first chief risk and compliance officer, according to Retail Week. Jacqueline Hourigan Rice, previously chief compliance officer for GM, will oversee corporate security, compliance and supplier management. Rice’s appointment is effective December 1: as a senior VP, she will report directly to chairman and CEO Brian Cornell.
