MINNEAPOLIS — Target’s annual managers’ meeting brought together some 14,000 senior employees for two days to get them pumped up for the holidays, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. Addressing the crowd, CEO Brian Cornell said, “We need to be cool again,” adding that he wants to boost the banner’s reputation again with a focus on home, apparel, baby, and beauty products. A star lineup of performers including Jamie Foxx, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay headlined the event, while a partnership with comedian Ellen DeGeneres was introduced. Though details are still forthcoming, DeGeneres is expected to act as a spokesperson for the retailer.
