MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Target is ignoring calls to cut and run from the Canadian market, instead redoubling its efforts with a grocery price-match guarantee, The Huffington Post Canada reports. The policy applies to any grocer nationwide, exceeding Walmart’s offer to match the price of any “local” merchant, a term open to the store’s interpretation. Though Target’s Canadian stores often carry a more limited range of groceries than their American counterparts, the industry is still feeling the reverberations of the retailer’s entry.
