Tech woes force reboot at Canac

Canac was forced to reset its computer systems Friday in the face of software problems, Le Journal de Montréal reports. Customers were obliged to pay cash while the reboot was in progress, since electronic card payments could not be accepted.

Patrick Delisle, the chain’s marketing director, said it was too soon to say if a cyber-attack was behind the difficulties. “At the moment there is no indication pointing to an attack,” he told the newspaper, adding that Canac had not received any ransom demands.
