Throwback Thursday: Castle adopts new signage program

In June 2005, we reported on the rollout by Castle Building Centres of a comprehensive program for store identification and merchandising for its members. A prototype design was installed at Windsor Building Centre in Windsor, Ont., while a number of other Castle stores were soon to follow. The program was designed by Burlington Merchandising & Fixtures (BMF) of Burlington, Ont.

The program recognized the need for a strong, unified brand to assist the group’s 250 member stores to promote and identify themselves amidst the incursion of other major retail brands, said Mike Frame, who was business development manager for Castle at the time.
