Tree Island Steel celebrates 50th year

Richmond B.C. — Tree Island Steel, a Canadian manufacturer of steel wire and wire products, is celebrating its 50th year in business. The company began September 1964 on the banks of the Fraser River in Richmond as a manufacturer of wire for bed springs.  Since the early days making bed spring wire, Tree Island has grown to produce more than 7,000 products ranging from construction nails to wire used in the manufacturing of finished goods for the North American and international market.

Today, Tree Island claims to be one of the largest producers of wire and wire products in North America. Along with the original plant in Richmond, the company has three other facilities in Southern California.
