True Value CEO kicks off National Hardware Show in Las Vegas


LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The hardware and home improvement industry has landed in Las Vegas to attend the National Hardware Show. It’s being held in in conjunction with the All-Industry Conference, held by the North American Hardware Association.

From the NRHA stage at the entrance to the show inside the Las Vegas Convention Centre, the event got underway with a presentation by John Hartmann, CEO of The True Value Company. The successes in recent months and years by the Chicago-based retail company reflect the growth and strength of the industry—and independent dealers, in particular—overall, he said, “for the independent family business is the fabric of the American economy.”

Retailers on the show floor came from all over the globe, including a number from Canada. Buyers from Canadian Tire, Home Hardware,  Peavey Industries, Federated Co-op, BMR Group and a number of ILDC member companies were present.
