Investment in U.S. construction unexpectedly edged up by 0.2. percent in November, according to U.S. Commerce Department data, following an equivalent decline in October. The increase, however, was driven by activity in the non-residential sector. Residential construction spending was down 0.5 percent, with a 2.9 percent drop in single-family projects outweighing gains in the multi-family sector.
