U.S. home resales hit nine-month high

Sales of existing U.S. homes rose unexpectedly in October, the second consecutive monthly increase. Sales rose by 0.8 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.34 million units. That was their highest level since January. Economists polled by Reuters projected a drop to a rate of 6.2 million units.
