U.S. home resales slip in October

WASHINGTON — Home resales fell 3.2% in October from September as fewer Americans bought existing homes. According to the National Association of Realtors, higher mortgage rates, the 16-day partial government shutdown, and a limited supply of homes were the cause of reduced sales. Sales of existing single family homes declined 4.1%, while condominium sales rose 3.3%.
